Zach announced for Glasgow convention

Zach has been announced for Constellation 2010, a Star Trek convention in Glasgow, Scotland, taking place the weekend of July 25th 2010.

The surprise booking would mean that Zach will not be available for San Diego Comic Con. We will bring you more information as we get it.

Tickets are in the region of £130 for a full adult weekend pass, with concessionary charges for children and families. The convention will be at the Glasgow Thistle, and profits go to charity.

  1. Zachary might have been announced but he has NOT BEEN CONFIRMED.

The organizers of this convention were told NOT to advertize Zachary for this event and NOT to use this photo for any advertising.

I would advise everyone to get conformation from his agent before believing what is being written and advertized on the convention site.

Information being supplied by UTA is in direct contradiction of the conventions adverts.

  2. All guests of Constellation events are announced following receipt of appropriate authority and approval but all appearances are subject to work commitments.

    Regards,
Janet & Bob from Constellation Events

  3. And there we have it, straight from the horses mouth. They have not and cannot confirm Zaq as a guest because HE HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED by the UTA. It has nothing to do with work commitments. HE HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED.

This convention is being run by two people whoom, during their last time on a committee, left the committee with one week to go before the event by walking out, leaving the rest of the committee with a debt of over $3300 and announcing to everybody who would listen, that they had left.

  4. Look, I don't care about personal issues here or previous experiences here. One side is telling me he is confirmed through proper channels and this anonymous person is saying something else. Can anyone else shed some light on this? I want to go along to this but am a bit concerned that I'll lose my money.

  5. I think the key thing here is "Anonymous". My name is Janet Stewart and I am one of the organisers of Constellation 2010.

I am not entering into an argument here but if anyone has concersn please email me at constellevents@btinternet.com and I will answer any queries you have direct.

  6. There are a large number of people in Scotland and the UK who will not buy a ticket for this event until they are shown proof that Zachary has confirmed and also due to the Two Organisers past history in deserting friends a week before running a convention.

They have never run a convention before or any event bigger than a raffle and have no experience in running conventions.

  7. I have heard through the Grapevine that they have sold only a handfull of tickets and that they don't have enough money to pay Zachary's Fee.
    Is this True?

  8. We are sad to announce that, due to professional commitments, Zachary Quinto will no longer be appearing at Constellation 2010.

However we hope to announce another guest in a few days time and have made enquiries about a further two guests.

As to the comment above regarding ticket sales - we wil not discuss financial matters here or anywhere else: these are completely confidential.

  9. What a load of bollocks. As i told everyone, and they didn't believe me, he was NEVER coming. HE WAS NOT EVEN BOOKED. How many times do you people need to be told before you eventually get it through your thick heads that we know what we are talking wbout. Now we are being fed a bunch of lies about how he had professional commitmets.

And as for getting your money back, dont hold your breath. With only a handfull of tickets sold, they dont have enough money to pay their debts and give refunds. I hope all you idiots who bought tickets did so with your credit cards as that is the only way you can guarentee your money back. Its either that or get a team of lawyers.

And because they lied about Zachary, is anybody going to believe them ever again about getting guests.

SO thats less than 6 months to go and NO guests and nothing else even planned. What does it feel like to spend $215 to go to an event where there are no guests????

  10. hey anonymous/ John Smith or whatever you call yourself!
It`s clear you have a hostile agenda against these people.
Give it a rest and go get a life!
How could you possibly know anything about any arrangements made.
I`m guessing that there was some kind of pre-signing arrangement made. They wouldn`t have been allowed to employ any advertising strategy otherwise. The Zach situation has obviously been close to a satisfactory conclusion for both parties before ZQ dropped his `no star trek` bombshell.
I dare say the Constellation guys aren`t the only ones to be dropped in it!
Now, give it a rest with your axe grinding rubbish and give us all peace.
The hostile language in your posts is a give away.
Fandom can do without the poison you`re peddling. You`re only showing yourself to be a sad whiney malcontent.

Give it a rest now please.

You have gave out this type of rubbish to so many people in the past.
People need to know the Truth.

Can't we just all get along?!

Granted, it's a bummer that ZQ dumped the con in a very unprofessional way, but don't go pointing accusatory fingers without evidence. Most if not all cons announce guests they don't have. I was burned that way with the first con I went to (Damn you, Emma Caulfield *sobs*) but I enjoyed it still. In fact, most of my friends I made there.

So, I'm not here to defend Bob and Janet but to give them the respect due. Yes, they've been bloody slow with announcements, but give them time. They're bound to have something with the money and time they've invested.

Granted, I won't be there as I'm at the Maryport Blues Festival, but at least they have my blessing. Just don't screw it up, guys!

By the bye - no more anonymous posts please. Be brave! And eat your Weetabix, like me!

  13. Sorry to hear about ZQ guys - hope you have a good con, but i'm afraid the ticket price for me is just way overpriced for James Callis on his own when theres nobody else advertised yet. No offence meant, but any chance of you dropping your ticket prices to something more reasonable given its so close to the event now? Might get more people through the door?
